After a short drive from Kingman, we arrived in Phoenix just after lunch. Fortunately, the capitol was very easy to find. The campus consists of three buildings, two of them legislative buildings and the “old” capitol building that is set up as a museum. Inside, there are many exhibits depicting historic moments in Arizona’s history. One wing is dedicated exclusively to U.S.S Arizona. There is a model of the ship, as well as artifacts recovered from the ship.  The most impressive monument is the anchor from the U.S.S. Arizona proudly on display in the park across from the capitol. The mast is also on display next to the anchor. The sight is very humbling, and pays noble tribute to those who perished on board.
