Our pilot has a sticker on the back of his travel bag that reads “I’d rather be driving my tractor.” this might not be good.

Back at Dulles

Our adventure is over. We got the last two done this morning and then stopped for lunch on chesapeake bay. I had to have a crab cake.
The car is checked and we are sitting at the gate waiting to board. Special thanks go out to iPhone and Sirius 1st wave for making the trip go as smoothly as possible.

Wild card?

by on Jun.12, 2010, under Uncategorized

My friend Chris has been to New York city a few times, but he has never seen the Statue of Liberty. The plan was to get to the city, go to the statue, and grab a bite to eat before we head out. That was the plan….
Traffic delayed us a bit and we were late getting to JFK airport, where we planned to catch subway to Penn Station. I knew I would have to drive through Queens to get there, but I had no idea what driving there would be like. I have never actually seen hell breaking loose, but now I have a rough idea of what to expect. Then there is the parking situation. I’ll be brief and just say that there is no way the car will be there when we get back.
We finally get to NYC, and head to Battery Park. I was getting excited because after all his attempts, chris was finally going to get to see her. No weather to stop us today. We get to ticket counter #1. closed. Ticket counter number 2? Closed. Guess whether or not ticket counter 3 was open.
Turns out that they are not running ferries to the island today. New York clearly hates Chris. We are now at Tir Na Nog enjoying a well deserved Stella.

Storm in Hartford

by on Jun.12, 2010, under Uncategorized

Caught in the rain. We managed to get some pictures before the sky opened up. I saw a sign that advertised Connecticut’s 375th anniversary. Wow. It’s too bad we got rained out. I guess I am going to have to play my wild card after all.
