Good morning, Atlanta.

by on Oct.28, 2010, under Uncategorized

I didn’t get much sleep because of an accident that happened at the motel last night. There was a lot of noise. At least I am not the person that caused this…

Time for another trip

by on Oct.27, 2010, under Uncategorized

I am about to jump on a plane heading for Atlanta. This weekend I will be visiting GA, NC, SC, VA, WV, OH, KY, and TN. I had no idea I should have scheduled around the World Series. It’s a nice problem to have though.

Stars blew a lead and lost in overtime. The games count for real next week. Time to go home. I am on my way back to Dallas.

Lucky me

by on Oct.02, 2010, under Uncategorized

After checking online to see what is going on in St. Louis, I found out that the Dallas Stars are in town to play the Blues. Good seats still available. 30 bucks got me this close to the ice. For $50 I would get to play. I am too tired.

Home of Lincoln

by on Oct.02, 2010, under Uncategorized

After visiting so many capitols that paid homage to Lincoln, it was nice to actually visit the state that claims him as their own. I made a quick stop to visit the grounds of Lincoln’s house. Very impressive. An Islamic man asked me which house it was, and I was kind enough to tell him. He didn’t look like he planned to do harm.
The next stop was up the street at the capitol building. It was closed of course, but I walked the grounds and took some photos. I didn’t realize that I parked illegally, but fortunately I discovered my mistake before I caused a traffic jam. My bad, Springfield.

Oh, Madison…

by on Oct.02, 2010, under Uncategorized

I wish I had the time to write you a love letter. I am sorry our encounter was so brief.
The has been one of my favorite stops. I was fortunate to visit on a day there was a farmers market going on right on the grounds. A hundred or so local farmers brought in all kinds of goods. I purchased some local maple syrup, but the find of the day was the freshly made cheese curds. The free samples were a mistake, Mr. Farmer.

Leaving Lansing

by on Oct.01, 2010, under Uncategorized

It looks like everyone else is to. The Capitol had closed just as I arrived, so I was only able to get some outside shots. All that way for 5 minutes? Oh well. Chicago will make it all better. See you in Chi-town.

It’s beautiful in Indy

by on Oct.01, 2010, under Uncategorized

Not a cloud in the sky today in downtown Indianapolis. I passed Lucas Oil field on the way to the Capitol. It’s no Jerry World, but it is very impressive.
The Capitol was beautiful. Very accessible to tourists. When I told the lady I was visiting all the state capitols, she gave me a special commemorative book about the Capitol. So, thanks to Cindy for the swag.
On to Lansing.

I crossed 5 state lines today.

by on Sep.30, 2010, under Uncategorized

650 miles in the books today. Waking up early to head to Indianapolis, and then Lansing, MI. Once my state capitol business is finished, I am heading to Chicago for a night in the big city. See you in the morning.
